EU type deck mounted towing chock also known as EU type Panama bow chock, is a kind of deck chock. It is specially designed for towing purposes and accepted by Panama Canal Authority and class societies.
EU type towing chock is made of cast iron or cast steel, it is commonly used for temporary mooring. The surface of the towing chocks is fine polished and well painted without any bur and edge to protect the towing ropes from breaking during work. It is welded at the vessel bow, and used to guide ropes for ships.
